Is there a way, with Direct Alias, to have NO menu item in the url

For example, this is what I have

http://www.domainname.com/menuitemname/pagename

instead I just want in every case:

http://www.domainname.com/pagename

If so, what are the setitngs in the plugin to make it happen. And do I ...
