It is possible to use your extension for a bilingual dictionary ?
For example scrolling column with words of the source language (words for a letter [A] for ex.) on the left and translations (with definitions) on the right according to selected word of the source language ?
It will be g8. I have not seen any good Bilingual Dictionary extension for Joomla yet.
Alter Glossary as Bilingual Dictionary ?

It doesn't have columns layouts, but it has native Joomla language associations and language selection for a word, so list of terms includes only terms of current Joomla language.
