Gif Avatars not animated in Joomla+p8pBB bridge+phpBB

I searched for topic in which I can find answer to the question why GIF avatars when uploaded through jomsocial not animated in phpBB forum. Is this JomSocial issue (maybe it is not allowing GIF avatars) or this is something I'm overlooking in settings?

I see your GIFs on forum here are animated, please advice how and what to do to be animated.

Please not that User Control Panel of phpBB has been disabled. Avatar upload only through jomsocial.

Yes, JomSocial creates avatar thumbs without support of GIF.

We don't use JomSocial, so our forum avatars can be animated by just uploading avatar in phpBB UCP.

Thanks, I figured something like that :/ it's to bad jomsocial don't use them. But in case they allow use of gifs, would p8pbb be able to handle it just like all other avatars without upgrade?

Yes, bridge uses JomSocial functions for creating JomSocial avatar thumb once forum avatar is uploaded.
So once JomSocial allows animated GIFs you will see them in avatars.
