Can the url's be rewritten to show user name for profile . Something to the nature of say https://alterbrains.com/bomzin or even .com/user/bomzin .

hm... we can make signature synchronized with any CB field, but the problem is that we can't parse phpBB bbcodes in CB profile.

If you want to have kind of CB signature - you can create CB field for it, place it to the separate tab and setup tab's position somewhere, probably it will work.
