... share articles only, so each site will be able to have different menu items but you will be able to edit all articles from main site. In case of sharing articles and using separate database for each site please ensure that MySLQ user of subsite has access to database of main site.

Yes, that's possible.
Second domain should parked on top of main site, so both sites will use same files.
Second site will use own database, but Kunena (and Users - also required) will be loaded from main site, so forum and users data will be always same.

I have an existing Joomla 2.5 site with Kunena forum. I'd like to have a second Joomla 2.5 site at a different domain. The second site should include the same Kunena forum. No other content but the forum should be shared between both of the sites. Is this possible? Also, can I get a copy of the user...

That's not possible because MightySites can share only ALL users.
