phpBB groups will be synchronized with Joomla 1.6 groups. We are already experimenting with this.
We has serious approach for the bridge, we won't leave our customers, we strive to organize ourselves as provider of hight-end Joomla! extensions and we will have the bridge for 1.6 with all current features and more, it's just a matter of time.

It's a good notice, instead i'm interested if you can develope a comment system for joomla articles with phpbb3, for example for every article the plugin sould create a new topic and for every user comment it isert comment in the forum too.

Didnt see this posted but I would love if you can add the some of the UCP to the jomsocial menu like posting preferences, edit signature, ect.

What about enhanced SEO for the forum, instead of

This will create big database load, we won't develop such feature.
