We are interested in buying the bridge extension however we don't know for how long we will be able to get any future updates. For example the next 12 months? How does it work?

Also, in the page NEWS ( http://alterbrains.com/news ) we see a left module with the "Latest on Forum" items. Is this part of default functionality of the bridge?

Yes, 12 months of subscription are included, you will have access to downloads of all updates and upgrades.
