We want to have a second website that sells points that can be used at our main website to make purchases. If we use this extension and someone logs in on the new site will they be able to make purchases in Hikashop or will they need to create a new account on the site I want to sell the points from. Also will they be logged into both websites or will they need to log in? Could this work where the points they buy are added to their points account on the main site? Thanks in advance for your help.

Basically I want that when someone buys points they are added to their account on the main site also.

MightySites can share all users and have special single login or session sharing (depending on your domain names).

MightySites can share any database table directly: if you know the points database table, we can force slave site to use this table from master site's database.

Note that both sites should use same MySQL server and MySQL user of slave site should have access to database of master site.
